For Sale - Classified Forum Rules

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

In an effort to clean up the classifieds, we are requiring that all classifieds posts be in the following formats:

  1. If you are selling something:
    (Example FS: Item Name)
  2. If you are looking to buy something:
    (Example WTB: Item Name)
  3. If you want to trade something:
    (Example WTT: Item Name)
  4. If you are posting a link to an ebay auction you MUST have a buy it now price in the auction and in the thread title. If you are just looking to gather interest for your auction, then we suggest putting a link to it in your signature.
  5. Furthermore, we will not allow all CAPS thread titles, or distracting characters such as ">", "*", "!", "~", etc.

The thread title MUST be in a format presented above, or the thread will be removed. Also, all threads must be in the 'For Sale - Classifieds' forum!.

If you are selling an item, you must include a price in your initial post.

The classifieds are not a place to voice an opinion on a product. Questioning the value/price, linking to the same or similar item, or posting in an attempt to devalue the objects being sold is forbidden. If you wish to question the value, IM the seller. Do not reply to a classifieds thread unless you are interested in the item. This will cut down on the traffic in the classifieds, which will result in less people bumping their topics, and making it easier to find what you are looking for. Once your item has sold, or you have found what you are looking for, please make a note of that in your thread.

Items that are not to be sold in the classifieds are:

  • Firearms
  • Tobacco
  • Illegal copies of software
  • Commercial items

In addition, the classifieds are not to be used as a Personals Section. These posts will be deleted immediately.

These new classifieds rules will be strictly enforced for all new threads.

Questions & Answers:

Some of the basic questions we have received so far now that we are applying these rules:

Q: What if I have 6 different items for sale?
A: You will need to post 6 different threads all that need to follow the new title format. We are doing this to assist the users in finding and selling items easier. The search engine isnt going to do much for people finding your thread if its titled "Garage Sale" or some other non-descriptive term.

Q: What if I dont know how much to sell an item for?
A: Sorry but you will need to do your research before posting. These are classified forums not auction forums. If you post a for sale thread without a price it will be locked. This is to help get control of all the fights that break out in the classified threads.

Q: Why was my ebay thread locked?
A: All threads with links to Ebay items must include a price, so unless your auction has a buy it now you will not be able to post in the classifieds. If you are simply looking to advertise your auction then we suggest you please place a link in your signature.
